Fashion & Textiles Workshops

The School of Fashion Design teaches the fine art of hand-crafted garments. While our Certificate curriculum provides a deep and comprehensive study of technical design, pattern making and construction, we also offer shorter workshops that cover a variety of skills to support your exploration of all things fashion, fibers, and textiles.

Note: Our workshop program operates independently of our Certificate in Fashion Design core curriculum. Enrollment in SFD workshops does not count toward completion of the Certificate program.

I want to take all of the workshops! They all look so good and are such a fun way to enhance the core program. SFD just continues to get better and better—what an exciting time to be a part of it!
— Jenny Lazauskas, SFD alumnus

We are lucky to have alumni and friends in the local fashion industry who frequently work with us to provide short professional development workshops that complement our Certificate program coursework.

Our professional development workshops are designed for fashion professionals at various stages of career, and offer glimpses into a wide array of job skills within the broad fashion industry.

Examples of our professional workshops include creating tech packs, fit techniques, communicating with factories, how to get accessory products to market, and more.
